Our Story
Meet the designer
Kemi Alao Sims
Heir of Grace was founded in 2012 by Kemi Sims (Alao), a then 16-year-old visionary driven to explore the intersection of Japanese minimalism and her Nigerian–Costa Rican heritage. From the beginning, her work has been about blending cultural influences with refined simplicity to create pieces that are elegantly distinctive.
Ethos
Design
We design garments that elevate the individual rather than overshadow them. Clothing is not meant to define you—it is a vessel, a framework through which your identity and presence are expressed. Rooted in an architectural approach to design, the brand is defined by sculptural silhouettes, refined construction, and an intentional balance between structure and fluidity. Heir of Grace presents clothing that is both distinctive and deeply personal.
Process
Atelier
Each Heir of Grace garment is crafted in small batches at our Houston atelier, where we guide every detail—from the selection of fabrics to the precision of the final finish. Our philosophy is simple: true sustainability is achieved through timeless design. Pieces are made to last a lifetime, carrying presence, purpose, and refinement with every wear.
